Screw everyone that won't admit that line was the first thing to pop into their head when they saw the news!

I'm not normally a 'we're cooked' guy, but we're cooked.

I don't want to presume with him as well. Yes he's a big poster so it's certainly plausible he's incentivized to make the most sensational read as that boosts engagement, but he's also going through tons of posts so it might just be what comes from making an expedited judgement.

Lacking perspective for sure, but I don't know if I would call his take deranged.

I'm not sure if it's 30s or having kids.

Actually, rereading it, I think what he's saying is that he thinks the restrictions that were put in place during those incidents should just be put in place all of the time. I think that would cause more headaches than it's worth, but not so much deranged.

Wait, that would be a pretty on point headline though.

As much as I want it to be an empathetic reason like relating to dealing with his son, I think the wool is officially off for a lot of them that his populist angle was all bullshit. Perhaps that gives them too much credit by determining they actually do have principles.

I actually think it's the opposite. He's probably both, but the more objective determination is that he has run things the most poorly and therefore is the worst president, but as a person he's competing against guys like Andrew Jackson. Granted, who knows how he would've behaved at that time.

We REALLY need to get over this obsession with the simple cowboy coming in and telling the eggheads how it is by using their instincts to see the forest for the trees. Sometimes things actually are so complex that greater experience and understanding helps.

My hot take: nothing's ever perfect, but the Biden administration did more for the working class than any progressive one would have. However, that included simply proposing taxing unrealized capital gains, and for that, the rich spent 3 years convincing everyone they were awful.

Ooohh, I have a new angle for my conspiracy theory about public opinion during the Biden administration!

Sadly, I think they realize they're in the clear so long as they only do things like this to people with a last name like Mubashir. Same reason there wasn't a stronger outcry over Khashoggi, if less than 51% of the country can see themselves in your situation nothing will change.

I really don't know how that 'social contract' diatribe Andreessen gave isn't more well-known. Like it's straight-up supervillain logic.
