I made it in Blender because I'm in love
Everything is handpainted to look good from only one angle, and the characters are flat, which means that 3D-ness of it is not necessary at all, but easy ways are for easy people

Yesss it looks so pretty! The lush 3D foliage everywhere is especially impressive for the dinky DS.
A nice reminder that good art direction will always prevail over graphical fidelity

Are there any interesting anecdotes about producing the theme song (that you haven't already told)? Like maybe something about coming up with the lyrics or the instrumental?

Oh and also where does that sample of "don't kill me man" come from? (Sorry if it's actually well known I just don't know)

I'm curious if a weight-based system (e.g. like in TES) might be better suited instead of a fixed number of slots, so you could have as much individual item types as you want as long as you're not overencumbered.
Maybe a simple one could be a paginated grid of slots with a weight meter in the corner
