A great conference week @behaviour2025.bsky.social meeting new & old colleagues. Presented our work on butterfly seasonal wing polyphenism: influence of humidity+host plant quality & bird vision modelling of wing patterns. Glad to have received the Best Poster Award (+ a beautiful painting)!

Our false head work is out! By analysing ~1000 #butterflies, we found many traits at posterior end of hindwings evolved correlatedly, likely forming a trait complex w/adaptive function to dupe predators into thinking these traits together are actual head!!
