The only meaningful literature in post-apocalyptical America will be Bishoujo (美少女) so sayeth Anicom, the Anime Research Club of Waseda University, a fanzine operated by the acclaimed animator, Mochidzuki Tomomi (望月 智充), who has worked many beloved anime.

Fictional interview between Kagami Akira's (かがみ♫あきら ) girls and Kogawa Tomonori (湖川友謙) published in the 1984 September issue of Animec a month before Kagami Akira passed away on August 8th. I'll be uploading an interview with Kagami Akira in the near future.

Hagio Moto (萩尾望都) drew this one-page manga with the title 'Azuma Hideo and Me' (アズマヒデオとわたし) depicting her first encountering Azuma's interesting manga and meeting him for the first time, and then collaborating with him for a joint manga before going out for drinks.

At the conclusion of the talk, Azuma Hideo (吾妻ひでお) drew a two-page parody of Hagio Moto's (萩尾望都) 'Otherworld Barbara' (バルバラ異界) with the title 'Strange Rumour Barbara (バルバラ異聞). And another one-page manga called 'Hagio-san's Manga Makes Me Cry' (萩尾さんのマンガは泣けるなぁ).

I translated a long talk between these two influential mangaka that will be uploaded this year.

I read The Hidian Gamers (been collecting most of Konoma Waho's bibliography, including fanzine and magazine exclusives). There isn't much to talk about THG aside from speculation it might be the first TSF ero-manga serial, and Kazuna Kei based one of his characters on the THG faunette.

Interview with Takahashi Chiko:
nakanojapan.com/%E3%81%9F%E3...

He currently owns a second-hand bookstore, whose inventory is tied to Mandarake, but his main activity has been reprinting doujinshi for the past 30 years, which includes his own doujinshi like 'Mieko Metamorphosis'.

Takahashi Chiko's (たかはしちこ) legendary 1980 catgirl doujinshi series 'Mieko Metamorphosis' (ミーコメタモルフォセス), which has been compiled into at least 26 books. An important landmark in nekomimi history. Saw this cameo where Mieko slaps Magical Princess Minky Momo.

Petite Angie (プティアンジェ) VS Spiderman (スパイダーマン)

Petite Angie is Azuma Hideo's (吾妻ひでお) waifu, making her an extremely significant heroine in moe and bishoujo anime history. American comics were also important to Japanese artists back then.

Otaku VS Chud
For 40 years, these two entities have clashed, and their anime fight continues on as Otaku clings tightly to his samurai sword and religion.

Cigarette Ghost (タバコおばけ) by Azuma Hideo (吾妻ひでお) and the cover of Absurd Diary (不条理日記). The God of SF, Otaku, Catgirls, Bishoujo, Moe, Ero-Doujinshi, and Hentai penetrated western anime studios through Noah Miller (according to Azuma's assistant).

豊島U作 (Toyoshima Yuusaku)
According to this manga report of Toyoshima's trip to the LA Furvert Convention, Noah Miller owned a copy of 'Absurd Diary' (不条理日記) and was a big fan of Azuma Hideo, whose manga possibly influenced cartoons of the era like 'Animaniacs'.

吾妻ひでお『不条理日記・英語版』 (Azuma Hideo 'Absurd Diary English Version) (Source:『吾妻ひでお大全集』1981/5/15)

Azuma expressed a desire to have this manga localised into English, so they did this mock-up English version hoping an English publisher would contact them.

I see. Patrick's earlier books are self-censored due to his publishers. I've been translating some of the articles (primary sources) Patrick uses in his books, including the one with Miyazaki Hayao's response when Clarisse won 4th place in a popularity vote mentioned in the paper you linked.
