the bed since day 2 but generally didn't react when I was petting him, now he gets really close (and other than Simba is not bothered by me moving around a lot), squeezing himself against my belly or laying on my head.

They've teamed up and stole approximately 85% of the bed.
Both cats taking advantage of the amount of blankets around the human. Simba is at my feet, forcing ny legs to take up an odd and slightly painful angle as Philly has squished his back on my thigh and his legs push against my belly. Picture slightly edited to make the cats more visible and show a better angle.

The incoming car ruins this shot a bit but here's some atmospheric fog from this morning:
Foggy street in the morning mist. The regular street lamps spread their light in a yellowish cone. The road is empty but blueish tinted headlights are visible around a corner. On the right side there's only a metal fence but on the left the road borders on a forest, there's a single building in the left lower corner continued by a occasionally delapidated stone wall. Behind them are trees which now appear dark but are actually displaying the most beautiful autumnal colours. The image is somewhat divided by the nearby hill into the part described above ranging from the top left corner doen to the lower right. Above this scene is the bright blue morning sky, occasionally disrupted by silhouetted tree tops.

Beautiful moonrise today.
Edited the second picture a bit (reducing saturation as the moon appeared way too yellow and couldn't play around with the settings while photographing due to having to keep Philly from climbing out of the window).
Moon appearing over a forest covered hill, all trees in autumnal colours and the sky still relatively bright blue. The moon itself is not really visible as it was too bright for the camera to be picked up properly. Full round shape just made it over the hills. Some treetops and branches cover the edges but they're almost completely hidden in darkness. Only a small halo around the moon and the moon itself are well lit.

Sneaky friend acting like a leaf...
Triangular shaped brown moth, probably a feathered thorn moth (Colotois pennaria), looking pretty much like a leaf. Including "veins" on the wings as well as wingspots looking like small holes. Probably a female as the antennae are short and not feathered although they are hidden so you only see the first couple of segments.

I knew the biodiversity here is great but... wow!
Crested newt, not exactly sure which species as it's probably a juvenile. It has a dark body with glittering specks and a warty texture as well as a single yellow stripe on the back. Close-up of the head. Its eyes are golden.
