I used to do things at Airport Lawyer and WidenLaw. Now less internety projects. Forever hollering about Detroit sports. Arsenal. Michigan. Reformed political hollerer.
That’s the thing. I’m bummed about the attack because we had a man advantage, but when you account for all the players on yellows qnd the injuries it kind of evens out. Either way, a draw serves our purposes even if not ideally.

Even before the Zubi sub I thought it really altered Rice gravity. Also, neither of those guys felt comfortable taking risks in attack.

Not that it’s some huge shock that there are costs to starting two back up center backs.

I think it’s easy to miss how much we lose in attack being down Saliba and Gabriel. Both because they’re excellent attackers but also it dramatically changes our risk tolerance going forward

That was a truly hilarious fake injury too. He threw his whole heart into it.

Would probably like to get Odegaard on for Martinelli and shift Eze left

On a related note, I would love to see them stock the defensive room with the kind of super veteran analysts that contributed so much to helping the offense. Need a Juan Castillo for DT.

In the name of continuity, I might try and retain and see how it goes with a better, more engaged leader. But I don’t feel too strong about it.

The secondary really felt some of the recruiting misses. It seemed like there was nothing between the starters and the freshman.
November 29, 2025 at 9:40 PM
I will say that I liked what we saw from Hillman and Curtis as the year went on. I’m absolutely baffled by the DL performance.

Also, I want a deep investigation who is responsible for the rotation.

How do you feel about the defensive position coaches here at the end?
November 29, 2025 at 8:32 PM
What happened on O is why I’m kind of optimistic. He made some hard choices that went way beyond cosmetic stuff. Just got to see it done.
November 29, 2025 at 8:29 PM
I think it was wrong to the extent that they had some meaningful self scouting misses. It feels like the defense kept waiting for the DT to be more than average.
November 29, 2025 at 8:22 PM
That’s what I mean by pivoting. They didn’t reinvent anything. They just made it simpler. Which is a change, but not an impactful one.
November 29, 2025 at 8:21 PM
Second year in a row we had entirely the wrong defense from the start of the year and had to pivot mid season. Absent apex predators at DT, you’re never gonna succeed with that kind of pivot. Desperately need a DC who can match scheme to talent. And also coach some attention to detail.
November 29, 2025 at 8:16 PM
A big part of why I want a DC change is that we are going to need someone better equipped to reimagine the defense depending on the strengths of the team. I’ve seen none of that from Wink and I don’t think you can build either line from the portal.
November 29, 2025 at 8:12 PM
I just don’t think he’s had a single game this year where you can point to a positive difference he’s made. On a strategic level or on an individual player development standpoint. Hes just kind of there.
November 29, 2025 at 7:52 PM
We moved Gattis on when he won the Broyles. I think most coaches know that doesn’t mean much. We will see! Massive hinge point in Sherrone’s tenure.
November 29, 2025 at 7:47 PM
Like if you want to kill Sherrone then you need to tell me you thought Michigan had a good chance of winning this game without Jordan Marshall.
November 29, 2025 at 7:46 PM
Given the way he rebuilt the offense, I’m optimistic, but if Wink sticks around that’s a screaming warning klaxon
November 29, 2025 at 7:42 PM
There’s 6 freshman on offense. People are way too rushed trying to draw Sherrone conclusions. He did a great job rebuilding the offense around a true freshman QB. Let’s see what next year looks like
November 29, 2025 at 7:39 PM
We won the biggest ever college football game in 23 and then did the funniest thing ever last year. It was great. Now we get to see what Sherrone has next.
