Which is not to make any predictions about what the SC will do when they get a chance to weigh in! But under current gerrymandering law the CA move seems more likely to withstand a legal challeng.

I am by no means an expert on election tomfooler, but as I understand it-

1. The CA gerrymander isn’t tied to the TX gerrymander, and

B. The fact that the CA gerrymander was the result of a public initiative for partisan purposes makes it significantly different procedurally from TX.
