I always tell people to “Challenge the information they receive. Even from me.” When majority people are going in the same direction, it’s often the direction you shouldn’t be going. Question your path, question what is told to you. Don’t settle and always seeks answers beyond what is shared openly.

You can’t live a full life in faith when the scriptures are only in your heart versus you not living by them. The scriptures and lessons come alive when you live them. That’s what they are there for. Goodness and morality is your spiritual tithing. Not striving for perfection but accepting you are imperfectly perfect.

You can always tell who hasn’t properly elevated as a #spiritual when they have a hard time apologizing or correcting their themselves without being asked to. That is their #EGO overriding their senses. Apologizing and correcting oneself is one of the first things strong spirituals have to master.

I'm a huge fan of Eden Royce, a talented Gullah Geechee author! I had the privilege of speaking with her previously and although we couldn't meet in person due to her residing abroad, our conversation was a wonderful opportunity to share my appreciation for her writing. Check the ALT: "Root Magic".
This book was definitely a GREAT READ! It introduces a lot of Gullah Geechee folklore and spiritual elements. Highly recommended. "Root Magic" by Eden Royce is a captivating historical fiction novel that delves into the world of Gullah magic and culture in 1960s South Carolina. The story follows 11-year-old Jezebel "Jez" Turner, who, after her grandmother's passing, begins to learn the secrets of root magic from her uncle.
