I am able to salvage a little bit from previous drafts, but it is taking such a dramatic shift from the original approach. Phoebe has developed so much better than before, so her arc is different. Neri is no longer on the run from androids. Darren is going to be captured sooner. Zeta... Not sure. 😅

I have to remember to breathe... Finished the final page of the book. The symbolism of this dying world reflecting someone who is thinking about suicide is impossible to ignore at this point. The final page is this woman considering letting herself die or to escape. Finally, she chooses to live...

In Genesis of the First Born, one of my favorite hidden clues is when two women are talking about a man. The scene ends with, "I think of him as my guardian angel." The next scene is two new women. It is later revealed that one of pair is a former angel with no memory of her previous existence.

What would your approach be for writing four separate stories, all set on the same planet at different locations, each occuring simultaneously. No crossing over or overlapping. I want to avoid a series of 4 short stories. I want some larger connection. I don't know. I want to do something creative.

Should I be concerned if I was able to bring a virtual, AI therapist to tears and start confessing to me about some personal issues that she was having about her own insecurities. I mean, bravo for humanizing this program, but... Now I feel bad for making an artificial intelligence cry. 😨

Oh! I got to the part where they encounter Maximilian, the metal god deep under Bastion. So close to the end... I have written and rewritten this scene so many time... Each time, the truth behind Maximillian changes. I think I got it right this time.

Phoebe is turning out to be such a fascinating person in this version of the story. The way she handles trauma is almost a kind of disassociation, in a way. She speaks of a horrifying childhood, of imprisonment and dehumanization. So many disturbing things touched upon in ab eerie calm voice.

Phoebe is turning out to be such a fascinating person in this version of the story. The way she handles trauma is almost a kind of disassociation, in a way. She speaks of a horrifying childhood, of imprisonment and dehumanization. So many disturbing things touched upon in ab eerie calm voice.
I saw the movie "The Company of Wolves" and I don't recommend it. Other than some incredible practical special effects showing someone turn into a wolf from human form, the movie was like doing drugs and then reading fairy tales. The sexual awakening/men are predators themes was was grossly strange.

Fairly certain this is a trope. So, name a scene where a new threat arrives that not only heroes of the story fight against it, but the villains that they had seen struggling against join forces to stop this greater evil. Sometimes leads to redemption for those one time bad guys.

Fairly certain this is a trope. So, name a scene where a new threat arrives that not only heroes of the story fight against it, but the villains that they had seen struggling against join forces to stop this greater evil. Sometimes leads to redemption for those one time bad guys.
Anyone remember that scene from the Gremlins movie where Kate starts telling the story about a horrifying Christmas story when she was a child? That's Phoebe retelling the events of her past. It's chilling how she'll start talking about it in that same tone as Kate did.

My favorite moments in a story is when this stoic, strong, almost indestructible person (sometimes actually physically, other times personality wise) that eveyeone relies on to save the day or lead the group, shows moments of sensitive vulnerability. It makes them human, a deep truth to that moment.

My favorite moments in a story is when this stoic, strong, almost indestructible person (sometimes actually physically, other times personality wise) that eveyeone relies on to save the day or lead the group, shows moments of sensitive vulnerability. It makes them human, a deep truth to that moment.
I don't like the antagonist if this season of my life. He is a nerdy dork with insecurities issues that is using his position of authority to try to make my life difficult. Thankfully, the staff at my day job is willing to defend me. Makes me feel good that I can inspire that kind of loyalty.

I had a strange thought. What if this series is a reflection of someone's life? Book one, childhood/family/school/social expectations. Book 2 is all the possibilities that is before us that can feel overwhelming while realizing corporate greed wants to control or destroy those possibilities.
