I was gonna pick up this book anyway, but the phrase "arcane divas" has me extra onboard
"The series promises deeper reflections on the relationships with Wanda’s children, her pupil, and plenty of drama with other arcane divas, and this premiere issue delivers an enticing tease for what’s to come."

Trying to get to at least 250, been going at this for months and still far off... uhm, its hip hop borg or something?
Also will be getting off my butt for playtests of the next revision of Five Fires. Ive been paralyzed on how to revise this game for almost a decade so I am really excited to do that ahead of the launch.

Speaking of which, sign up Five Fires! www.backerkit.com/call_to_acti...

My husband willed a comic into existence for me.
When I say he's the best, it still doesn't fully express how great he is
I think 3+ years ago i tweeted @tomtaylormade.bsky.social and asked him to Please write black canary and green arrow in a comic for my husband. Im glad and super excited he finally is... you're welcome everyone else! But you're especially welcome @tacticalnukevin.bsky.social

I've started to see arguments that we have to get used to AI Slop coding even if it isn't great, because it's fast. Humans could go faster, too, if they're allowed to turn in stuff that only sometimes works. Such a fascinating double standard that will in no way come back to haunt, naw.

Ten thousand fucking percent.

Like, I get it. I get that you're despairing. Shit is rough. But skeeting "we're so fucked" ten times a day accomplishes nothing, alleviates nothing, and contributes to learned helplessness.

In all seriousness, if you feel that welling up? Log off. You need a break.
Most of all, drop that "we're fucked" mindset. Time to leave that doomerism bullshit behind and focus on doing good.
I want 2026 to be the year where we collectively stop rewarding negativity. Stop bringing others down to bring yourself up. Stop bringing attention to genuinely awful people. Stop ignoring people bringing positive changes to the world. We need more kindness and empathy. I’m dead serious

Coming back to this a full day later to ask why there isn't a glut of trashy Alan Scott/Johnny Thunder fanfic, it's barely even subtext

Mildly shocked to learn this issue is on DC Infinite, both excited and concerned to see how it's aged.
"This is our enemy" is a fascinating Justice Society story for a number of reasons, the most outrageous of all is how it disrupted the publishing of All-Star Comics for years to come.

See this story was not supposed to be published when it was, in March of 1945.

Short 🧵
I didn't realize that Wildcat joined the JSA so late, and that he'd only appear one more time in All Star Comics during the Golden Age (#27).

I'll go further, and say that your art is one of the most important things. Even now. Especially now.

Realize that most of our major technologies are used to consume and create art.

Survival is important, but what makes life worth surviving? Human connection and expression.

Art.

People are convinced that grimdark worlds are more "realistic" but I disagree. In the worst places and conditions and places on earth, people have found ways to create joy and meaning, to foster hope and goodwill, move forward.

Giving in and accepting is only one response to the world's horrors.

I've yet to find a fandom that hasn't descended into a miserable hater's club and I'll never understand why that's what people want
So many people are using the internet to create hater fan clubs and I’m just baffled. I know I have less cerebral RAM than most with ADHD, but I can’t imagine watching even ONE less AMV to spend any energy in commiserating with strangers about how much I dislike someone I’ve never met.

The formal rules of the TTRPG you are playing are there to evoke and to guide the conversation.

What are we talking about?
How are we talking about it?
What are the common constraints and rules we agree to?

This allows our different internal rules to meet at the table.

It’s very simple. Genuinely very simple. Until Section 230, it was the case that any website that allowed a user to publish any content of any kind could be sued if they said *anything* libelous or bad. That includes web hosts, blogging platforms, social media etc.

Not going to get into specifics because I don't want to get into a discussion of the actual story but seeing a comic story tossed off as "Well it's fun and good and all but doesn't matter to continuity so you should just skip it" hurts me in my god-damned bones. Fun! Good! That means "Read it!"

Every decision these giant companies have made in the last week have reenforced the same thought in my head:
It's more important now that ever to make new things, things you own, things that are queer, things that express the parts of yourself that are hard to just say out loud.
