Does Underrail count? There's an infamous junkyard depot dungeon early on that apparently serves as a sort of "build check" to see if the player can survive the rest of the game (and forces the player to start over and re-do their entire build if it can't pass)

That's the thing about criticism. It teaches you about yourself. What you value, how you feel about certain things, what in a piece of art matters to *you,* specifically.

And the more you do it, the better you understand yourself. It teaches you who you are and what you believe.

One of the first things I taught my college students was learning to distinguish how *they* felt versus how they were *supposed* to feel. We'd read the first chapter of Death in the Afternoon because that's what Hemingway wrote about.

Discovering that for yourself. Because you might be surprised.

One of the best things you can learn to say is "I don't know" or "I haven't tried it." Remain curious and open and make sure your opinions are *yours.*

That's really hard to do in a world designed to tell you how to feel about everything, but goddamn is it crucial to like... being a person.

My even more unpopular opinion is unless you have personally experienced the thing, you should probably refrain from having an opinion on it.

We need to return to shaming people for parroting YouTube/TikTok with stuff like "When I want your opinion, I'll just find the YouTuber who gave it to you."

Always funny when you can pinpoint the exact moment a YouTuber articulated a specific criticism because all of a sudden every discussion has it come up with identical phrasing when no one has mentioned it before.

It baffles me when companies don't put a salary range on listings. I guess it's their way of getting people to apply even if it's low but it just seems like such a huge waste of time on both sides! Why go through three rounds of interviews with someone only to find out you can't afford to pay them!

Fromsoft players are like... damaged. Speaking as someone who loves the games, the community is insufferable in their attitude that the game has a "right" way to be played. (Probably born from the "Its so hard!" circle jerk early coverage/marketing of DS1 spawned)

This backfired into a two decade long perception overseas that Gunpla building is very hard and impenetrable (it really isn't) to the point that for the 45th anniversary this year, the BANDAI SPIRITS twitter flat out said they were going to reverse that impression... that they made for themselves.
