Here are the three things the EU has fined X for:€45 million: For having a system with blue checkmarks that misleads users into believing that anyone with a blue checkmark has been verified by X and is who they claim to be. This has been used for Maersk fraud and scams. €35 million: For having an advertising database that is impossible to use properly, so that it is hidden who is buying political advertising. €40 million: For blocking researchers’ access to public data so they cannot investigate hate speech, disinformation, election interference, etc. None of these three things have anything to do with limiting free speech.
