Sneering and contrarianism might make far-right hearts beat faster, but it's utterly useless in portraying Conservatives as a serious party that is prepared to govern. It simply reminds Canadians how closely aligned the CPC is with MAGA.

Absolute scorcher from @maxfawcett.bsky.social. Highly recommend the read (and viewing of Carney's excellent speech).
After months of trying to play nice with Donald Trump and MAGA world, Mark Carney decided to drop the hammer of truth on his rogue administration, @maxfawcett.bsky.social writes. What comes next will help determine Canada's place in the world — and whether it even has one.
Mark Carney just shook up the world
His speech in Davos might be the most important one ever delivered by a Canadian prime minister. Its consequences will determine his place in history — and ours.

"Stephen Harper, call this out before it's too late. You too, Jason Kenney. Come on down, Pierre Poilievre.

The country is at risk. Stop blaming other people for the calls that are coming from inside your own political house."
Danielle Smith's willingness to cater to Alberta separatists was always a dangerous game.

Now, in the wake of America's attack on Venezuela and its covetous advances on Greenland, she's effectively risking Canada's future in order to save her own. #cdnpoli

Danielle Smith's separatism games are coming at a dangerous moment
Alberta's premier loves to talk about standing up for her province. Will she ever show the same enthusiasm when it comes to Canada?

For those of you in Public Health and Infectious Disease communities who are offended by this, let's turn that around:

If bad engineering led to a plane falling out of the sky or a bridge collapsing or the electrocution of kids in a daycare, I'd call that out, too.

Address failure. Directly.

You had one job.

Just maintain the #measles status that your predecessors had established.

But you couldn't even do that.

This is what failure looks like.

It's time Public Health & the Infectious Disease communities to grow up and accept that they need help from experts outside their community.
