Narratives must change for progress to happen: SARS-CoV-2 is airborne, highly transmissible, fast mutating, transmitted all year, and associated with a high burden of disease. In 2025, where are the IAQ regulations, the 2nd-generation vaccines, treatments for Long Covid, etc.? Masks are a tool.

His assertion makes a real (il)logical leap. People who want better building ventilation, masking in (say) oncology wards of hospitals, HEPAs in classrooms, IAQ reporting, etc etc. aren't trying to get someone else to take care of them. They're trying to make the world safer for everyone.

So good to see @smartairfilters.bsky.social mentioned.

Likewise, #IAQ monitoring (presumably CO2 tracking), & educational support underpinning why clean air is important.

This is exactly how to ensure a #CleanAir initiative in schools will succeed.

In all of my interactions with the expert members of the group, as well as with the staff at OSPE, is that we're in this for the long haul and that it's, fundamentally, about our duty to the public.

We've been at this for years, now. It's slow and careful work.

The next pandemic will almost certainly be from an airborne pathogen since our protections against it are so weak. It's really too bad the U.S. didn't institute national standards for indoor air quality (IAQ) and a national culture of masking in all public indoor spaces before Trump got elected.

Our first conference session features Glen Ramos, Carolyn Dews, Katherine Marshall and Anne Wilson and will explore how poor IAQ is impacting people living with chronic conditions and immunocompromise, and why it is a critical accessibility and inclusion issue.

Woke up to pee and for some reason I decided to punt this thing again and look what changed … now if only the actual healthcare system would switch to respirators and deploy HEPA and other IAQ improvements.

We're excited to support National Indoor Air Quality Awareness month! We can all work together to improve our indoor air quality by investing in good air purifiers at home, and working with schools to improve their air quality.

Narratives must change. “During COVID” is now as COVID continues to circulate at high baseline levels all year and is associated with a high burden of disease - the acute phase of the pandemic is over. In 2025, where are the treatments for Long Covid, IAQ regulations, 2nd-generation vaccines, etc?
During Covid, when @gorskon.bsky.social & I coauthored a piece for @bmj.com on the links between right-wing climate denialist billionaires, anti-vaxxers, & the Great Barrington Declaration, some physicians felt it was "uncollegial" to be critical of the GBD

Now the GBD are Trump & RFK Jr's lackeys😔
Not being a physician, what I see is a toxic push for collegiality among medical professionals that has people not calling out bad actors, or as here, going out of the way to praise them, hoping they’ll reform and fly straight, when what they needed was to be called out and disempowered.

Most importantly everything is most likely fine with the medical situation (involved someone outside of our group but we provided first aid) but the other good news is that the IAQ stuff is definitely reaching some people, even super normies/offline people 3/3

Our unusual customer in New York🫣 posted this to their Instagram and X (fortress_nyc).

It seems they are pushing their Far-UVC and IAQ measures hard. Hopefully, customers will find it compelling, and other local businesses will do the same.

Many of us are quite familiar with the concept, loneliness and gaslighting of the “canaries in the coal mine”, over the past five years, about the Covid-19 pandemic and Indoor Air Safety #IAQ. Let me be clear, some of the UN event participants were definitely NOT canaries. Quite the opposite.
The organizers of the UN event for healthy indoor air used a canary on all their materials and gave everyone canary pins.

Why? Canaries detect dangerous substances in the air of coal mines. We all need to be like canaries and warn about the dangers of unhealthy indoor air due to COVID and climate.

THIS IS AN OUTRAGEOUS AND ABSOLUTE LIE!

Not only has France done NOTHING to improve indoor air quality #IAQ (where are the CO2 sensors and monitors, continuous ventilation, HEPA filters, UVC lamps?), but the health authorities have DENIED the benefits of HEPA filtration. Schools air is still stale.
Great work by France, too!

"We must pool resources to ensure that everyone everywhere in the world can breathe clean air inside their home, school, workplace or ---"

France has already (2023) invested in improving air quality in schools and nurseries.

THIS is the state of art of Indoor Air Quality #IAQ: “We have the tools, we wait for the collective will to act”. Thanks @saferairproject.bsky.social. And in France there’s NO such will so far, nor funding, even less mandates.
"We have the tools. What we need now is the collective will to act. To mandate indoor air quality performance standards that effectively reduce the risk of exposure to pathogens and pollutants."

"So accessible indoor air becomes the reality in all public spaces everywhere."
