👀 Every Senate Democrat + Collins and Murkowski just voted for the Bernie Sanders amendment to repeal the $75 billion in additional ICE funding under Trump’s “big beautiful bill.” The measure failed 49-51.

Cool, but why "energized the left"? Plenty of centrists and non-extreme conservatives participating.

Finding it hard to reconcile what the Nobel folks wrote in their announcement with this woman's alignment with anti-democratic people in the US.

"In its long history, the Norwegian Nobel Committee has honoured brave women and men who have stood up to repression, who have carried the hope of freedom in prison cells, on the streets and in public squares, and who have shown by their actions that peaceful resistance can change the world."

There is no left-wing violence in Chicago or Portland. It simply is not happening.

It's so not happening, in fact, that Republicans in Oregon took footage from two South American countries to create a hoax photo about Portland.

They have no actual violent footage to put forward.

Portland is a peaceful, vibrant city with no need for federal agents on our streets. I urge Oregonians not to fall into Trump’s attempt to incite violence. Just as I did in 2020, I will lead our delegation and state officials to oppose any unjustified increase in federal forces.

I’ll be in Portland today watching a soccer match, eating dinner outside (it’s a beautiful fall day here), maybe going to a bookstore because life in Portland is totally normal. But in case I’m met with the “full force” of the US military during my regular rounds, it was nice knowing you all.
