My mom is in town for a short visit, and has been reading the book Indian Givers: How the Indians of the Americas Transformed the World by Jack Weatherford. A fun fact she learned: The word avocado comes from the Nahuatl word ahuácatl, meaning "testicle". Have a great day all!

I agree with this. It's also a really lovely thing to do at the end of the year (or the start of the next one) - to think back about who really helped you out and supported you over the past year and drop a quick note to them, to their boss, to their company.
A small life hack that improves other people's lives but also often your own is to write really short thank you notes to people's managers: maybe one time out of 20 you get a freebie and hopefully more than that you help the person out.

Denver gave people experiencing homelessness $1k/month. A year later, nearly half had housing.
They also had fewer ER visits, nights spent in a hospital, and jail stays.
The report estimates that this reduction in public service use SAVED the city $589k.

The problem with text messages is that a message’s tone isn’t always clear. I’ve had my watch for about a year, and I still can’t tell if it legitimately wants what’s best for my health, or if it’s just being sarcastic. “Nice job”? Anyone else struggle with this?
