Just an ordinary bloke who likes sport (especially AFC Wimbledon), writing limericks, and thinking about retirement. Both a Londoner and Irishman.

Not a surprise to me. Seddon and Johnson are our standout performers this season.

Had no idea #TowelTheft was THIS BAD at the AFCON last night.

Look at the state of these bastards. Senegal’s sub keeper having to guard and hand Mendy his towel, fighting off ball boys and Moroccan players trying to thieve it.

Well whatever is said after this mad game, the result was deserved.

James Tilley? Really? Not convinced about that if it’s true.

That Morocco penalty has to go down as the worst in international football. Just as well as Senegal have been really poorly treated by the officials.

Public toilets made interesting

The lavatory, bathroom, privy, latrine, outhouse, WC, cloakroom, or just plain toilet. Whatever you call it, its a place that often gets overlooked. That's especially true when it comes to having to take a moment in public. Often public facilities are rough and ready and often smelly. Definitely not somewhere you'd want to linger in. There's a movement though that is trying to shift the dial.

I’m not a massive fan of overly sweet beers, but that’s the beauty of real beer drinkers. There’s room for us all.

I do t normally like or repost posts with dubious language, but I’ll make a rare exception in this case. Who said satire is dead? LOL!
Under UK electoral law Robert Jenrick remains the MP for Newark because it is an anagram of wanker.

I sometimes wonder what the youth of today will say about our world’s power brokers, and those who think they are the new order, in 20 years.

Approaching retirement is liberating. The last few months have been interesting to say the least. A year ago I’d have just walked, but today I can speak the truth without fear of reprisals.

You know those days that when you get home you just want to drink? Well this one won’t last long. Dinner will have to wait!

Is this finally the end of the Tory party as was, and an acknowledgment that Reform is just the same party under a different name?

I watched the first half of the Nigeria. Morocco game and gave up at HT. such a stop start game with way too many silly fouls. I’ve just looked at the result. There were 51 fouls in total. That’s over an hour of football lost in the game!

Should we get nine points out of the next four games against Doncaster, Rotherham, Port Vale, and Bolton, we should be alright. On paper this looks doable, but with this team you just never know.

What ever happened to that rule that only the club captains can approach the ref? #newmct

I’m pretty sure the idea of the honours system is to be awarded for the work you do, not just ask for an award!
Daily Telegraph reporting Nadhim Zahawi was denied a Conservative peerage weeks before he defected to Reform, Tory sources claim

Zahawi said to have made "multiple approaches" in late 2024, asking to be on the most recent political peerages list.

"We were very clear he wasn’t going to get one.”

Missed the last goal because I turned away in horror when Hackford tried miserably to lob the keeper. Anyone care to fill me in. It looked like their keeper juggled the ball and presumably Hippolyte did the rest.

Well done West Ham fans. 3-1 down and they’ve been singing like this all evening.

2-0 at HT Smith with the first after a mad goalmouth scramble, and Maycock with the second after some Mkeng magic down the left.

Regents Park pond is frozen over. No ducks in sight and the ice is thick enough to walk on. Not by me but by a teenager with less sense than me.

Interesting and a lesson for us all not to take everything at face value and to do the analysis on all news headlines.
Excellent primer here from Sky news on the various grades of crude oil, how the US market is set up to refine/utilise them; and just why oil might be a bigger factor in Trumps actions than regime change and/or drugs
