Peter Kyle should get out of Westminster and see how well his cowardice is received in Brighton & Hove.
Adil Ray plays footage of a British surgeon saying the govt needs to take action over Gaza, not just using strong words, & Adil then asks Peter Kyle: "What action can you promise?"

Kyle: "KS has consistently used the strongest possible language to describe the horrors in Gaza"

Films about events such as Oppenheimer and The Big Short offer protagonists to be read as tragic albeit naive. Their heart was in the right place, but the system worked against them. But if you grapple with the consequences of their actions, they are more so displaying performative disbelief.

A "grotesque spectacle"? It's a genocide, no need to mince words. Starmer, Lammy and this government are enabling a genocide, all the while having the audacity to pretend to be shocked.
Lammy "The grotesque spectacle of kids holding out their hand for food & being shot"

Are you imposing sanctions on Israel? No
Are you halting all arms sales? No
Are you stopping all trade? No
Are you ending all military assistance? No
Are you expelling the Israeli ambassador? No

Britain and France are going to lurch further and further to the right in the coming years. The economic foundations are set, and the commitment to 5% NATO defence spending surely all but locks it in.

Conversations about the British economy are stuck on just two options: budget cuts vs tax/spend. How about profit vs people, capital vs labour, and capitalism vs socialism?

Bannon and Musk perform similar roles for Trump as his international agents. Both simultaneously push the envelope of normalisation and rally fellow travellers.

Or, in other words: finance capital is the only thing keeping the UK afloat right now, and British imperialism is threatened by the break up and decline of the US-led "rules-based order".

This reminds me of the intro to the communist manifesto:

"Where is the opposition that has not hurled back the branding reproach of communism, against the more advanced opposition parties, as well as against its reactionary adversaries?"
These people actually think radical left Marxists run the world or something and that’s why there’s global capitalism and inequality is the highest it’s ever been and that the “deep state” isn’t actually spending lots of money to prop up global capitalism and billionaires

The maddening thing is that in the next election liberals and "moderates" will be claiming that the left needs to fall in behind Labour and support them. We'll get the same old "lesser of two evils" argument, where Starmer is pitted against Farage.
