Given how the coca-cola AI ad's developers talked about the graft while showing obviously fake footage of them pretending to do anything (like drawing with a tablet stylus that wasn't connected to anything), I wouldn't be shocked if this was just a lie to justify hiring people to sit around all day

This is precisely it I think, the oligarchal class now controls so much wealth that businesses now exist more to serve them.
The only problem for them is that all this wealth is tied up in stocks & speculation that has never truly been realised, so it's a castle built on sand.

Same here. I know a lot of platforms look the other way when people mention the abuse going on, but I've never seen any take it to the point of active defence. Discord shrugs & says "You let your kids on an open platform", Roblox actively encourages it.

SMB1 has been pretty hype to watch, with people like Niftski & Averge pushing hard for 4:54.3xx. The SM64 TAS scene has been making more progress than I've seen in a while, with a bunch of timesaves found, 120-star making progress, and a significant push towards 70-star 0xA
