A great deal of adding butter & cream to get to the right chewy consistency later I throw in vanilla & salt for good measure. Then I dump the whole mess on some pecans, still not completely sure it's not just a burnt mess. The next day I temper Ghirardelli dark chocolate & pour it on top with salt.

For like half an hour. Fairly high heat, I'm stirring like crazy, should have been done over an hour ago. It finally starts to melt...to the consistency of peanut butter.

3rd problem: it will absolutely not get up to hard crack stage but is obviously trying to burn. When dripped onto a cold saucer-

-slices of fresh ginger to up the flavor, then when that doesn't quite do it, some cloves and cinnamon sticks. Flavor is still a little lackluster so I add molasses. Better.

2nd problem: it gets weird. Instead of the sugar water turning into a syrup it...turns back into sugar. And refuses to melt.

Btw for those suggesting cookies, I made chocolate chip & gingersnap & they came out great. The gingersnap were slightly more crumbly but the chocolate chip seem identical. I knew bread might be weird but I needed it for the specific dish.

Thanks for the resources. I've shown my friend the thread.

Big success! The texture of the crostini was a little different but it held together well, even with avocado and smoked salmon piled on top. The smoked olive oil on the crostini kept it from being too dry. It certainly didn't have the chew of a gluten crostini, but quite tasty.

One of the things you learn after decades of crafting & cooking is if you ever think "this idea seems so good and obvious, I don't know why no one ever tried it before!" you are about to find out why no one ever tried it before.😆

This is the GF ciabatta attempt. It'll hopefully still make toast.

Please mock this with me, I am so tired of people.

Caring about things is cringe! Trying for a better world is a waste, just get yours before we boil! Wanting a better society is for hypocrites! Explaining downsides sounds like an evil villain manifesto!

Think I'll get off the internet for a bit.

Someone did this meme exactly, I've never seen it happen in the wild. Flat out told me if I hate AI but wasn't a hypocrite I'd be living in a yurt spinning my own cotton! We'll see if the reply gets me thrown out of the group. Facebook makes this place look so sane.

Alright, did a little studying and gave the coloring another go. I think it's better but still not where I want it. I'll probably try an action pose next. I'm having a hard time finding references who don't look like models.

Convincing you to read my (unpublished) novel by the first sentence. Share yours if you want.

This is the start of the Perhaps On A Different Plane, a YA urban fantasy trilogy.

Today and yesterday I spent all day hurrying to get the things I needed to do done so I could do the stuff I wanted to do, but by the time I was done with chores I'd run out of day. Not my favorite. At least I got some apple cake and banana bread out of it.

Today I learned that if you harvest lemongrass when it's cold enough outside you will not feel the dozens of tiny sawgrass cuts until you come inside and warm up, and will believe you are simply successfully being very careful.

Mistakes were made.

Also, what do I sow with this much lemongrass?

Hey artists! I'm trying to illustrate my urban fantasy & have run into a problem.

I'm partly face blind. I do NOT understand human faces. I can paint photorealistic nature, pretty good at inanimate objects. But not people.

Can I get some kind constructive critsism? Why does this look so lifeless?

The latest illustration for A Less Ordinary Evil, book one of the Perhaps on A Different Plane trilogy, where a late night surprise period leads the MC into the second inciting incident.

I learned about periods from Tamora Pierce's books. They should definitely be part of YA fiction.

Hack for infinite strawberry plants:

Get a big bucket of potting soil. Put in 2-3 strawberry plants. Ignore.

Every few months discover the strawberry plants have overtaken the bucket and are attempting to take over the surrounding weed lawn.

Transplant all but 2-3 strawberry plants.

Repeat.

For some reason it's impossible to take a good picture of blacklight glowing things. The phone just wants to pick up the blue light instead of the glow. Doof and Balloony particularly glow much better in person. We've also got some glowing skeletons.

For Halloween my dad and I dressed up in blacklight reactive costumes, filled the yard with black light, set up our Doofinzmirtz and Perry decorations, and watched Phineas and Ferb with a projector on a screen on the front of the house. We gave out so much candy we had to dip into our own supply.

Worked on illustrations for the Perhaps on a Different Plane trilogy today while I had post-migraine ick. Ended up photographing my own shoes as a reference when I couldn't find anything free. Still needs some shading & to make a black and white version.

I was picking peppers and eggplants and found this little guy. So tiny he has a whole jungle I'm 2 plants.

I have made a fully functioning magic wand! It only knows one spell, Make Acorn Go Fast.

I hear rumors that if you properly attune to it, it'll upgrade to Make Rock Go Fast.

Exciting possibilities.

I've bleach splattered, dip dyed, and uv reactive spatter dyed a pair of jeans, and dyed a jean vest. And started working on a prop wand. I'm not sure how I feel about the green splatters, but they should calm down after a wash. The camera doesn't catch all the UV colors super well.

Phineas and Ferb Halloween decorations progress: Balloony.

Or Collin.

Doctor Doofinzmirtz's best friend.
Or Big Mitch's best friend.
The rarest creature in the universe.
Or a balloon.

Don't think about it too hard.

Today is garden pepper fermentation day! (If nothing goes terribly wrong)

Wish me luck. My body is an absolute wuss about spice even if I like it, and somehow pepper juice always gets around my glasses. Might find a face shield and treat the really spicy ones like little bombs, for I am mayo hued.

Behold my Doofinzmirtz... inator?

Halloween decorations are running a little late because of the usual series of bad health and unfortunate events, but they're coming. Doof needs another round of glow paint. Perry, Balloony are already cut out and primed, and an inator is on the way.
