WHAT IS GOSE? Gose is a slightly sour, top-fermented wheat beer that was first brewed in Goslar more than 1000 years ago. Gose came to Leipzig via Anhalt in 1738 through the Old Dessauer and became THE LEIPZIG BEER! It was said: "The students drank between 2 and 20 Goses!" Even the student Goethe drank Gose. "Goethe goes to Gose" - as can be read in the book "Gosehäppchen"!
