The box and the vermiculite in the walls did their jobs to keep the fire contained, which burned out pretty quickly. I've replaced the box, and sealed the outlet to prevent a recurrence with silicon caulk, to keep water from getting in and causing an arc.

After getting the outlet out, I also pulled the box out so I could better examine the wiring, which was also partly damaged. The portion of the wiring inside the box was burned, but there was enough slack for me to cut the damaged portion off and re-dress the cable.

A couple months ago, we had a breaker pop during a heavy rain storm; it had a burnt smell accompany it, but I never found a smoking gun, until today.

The _only_ reason why I still step foot in a target anymore is because it has the pharmacy where i get my HRT; If it ends up closing, I'll just move my stuff over to the local food store instead and suck it up.

A not-so-little thing I spent a couple hours on over the last couple days; Emotional Support Shork shown for scale; it's over 6 foot tall- a good height to attach pride flags. My junior QC inspector approved the work.

A little comparison from when I started(left) to today(right), some 15 months later.
Sure, my hair is going gray, I've got laugh lines like you'd never believe, and my face has the 45+ years of acne scarring that'll probably never really go away. The smile between the two makes up for it in spades.

the recipe is a doubled baked penne in a just right sized casserole dish; I rarely get to use this enameled cast iron beast, but it's always fun when I do. I got 9 servings out, and for dessert I warmed up a pre-made frozen brownie waffle.
