My main beef with Duolingo, aside from some of the wonkiness that was going on with some Asian language courses back when I tried them out, is how they fired real people just to replace them with AI. Language is at its core such a human thing...
Duolingo isn't perfect but I don't think it's as useless as everyone tries to make it seem.
Yes, there are better apps but it's a start and usually a more accesible one. #langsky

I used to translate news articles and such for fun/practice, and sometimes my husband asks me to translate his essays. I've always thought that translation would be a fun path to take. What if I started practicing more and sharing my translations here...? Hmmm.

今天中文可真有意思啦～平時有七名（學生六名+老師）但今天大部分的人沒上課，只有我和一名別的學生，所以我們大部分的時間都沒看課本，就是隨便跟老師聊天的！一小時多的口語練習～
Chinese class was so fun today! Usually there are seven total, but today were only three including the teacher. We hardly looked at the textbook and spent more than an hour chatting with the teacher :D

I just had SUCH a fun voice chat with an L1 Arabic speaker also learning Mandarin Chinese, and the vibes were ~immaculate~ like… chatting with natives is cool and all, but it just hits different when you are vibing with a fellow learner hype as hell about the language ❤️ #langsky
