That'd be this grody boy, Sealizar, who they literally assume is a stinking, rotting corpse when it washes ashore unmoving, only for it to wake up when they attempt to drag it out to sea to burn it.

Glen, I like you, but...there were like half a dozen Marvel movies before GotG which all had quippy leading men.
And you can't even credit it to RDJ, because I'm pretty sure every superhero movie pre-Batman Begins had a quippy lead too, as did plenty of more grounded actioners. DIE HARD, anyone?
