Also for those who pay on the 1st & 15th, they're allowed to show up 2 hours late on the 16th because of the hangover.

It's maddening that it's considered smart politics to meekly mumble these idiotic slogans in response to being called Socialist instead of saying "Yeah asshole it's good when people have enough to live on and it's bad when billionaire sociopaths abuse us all"

Why are so many people trying to impersonate you? (Or a few people trying so often?)

His is the only Hamlet I ever enjoyed. Bought the DVD.
(He also did a damn good Othello. Didn't care for his Much Ado About Nothing, though.)

That's actually a good point. I thought about sending one to my 75yo parents (who, although progressive, still have subscriptions to BOTH WaPo & NYT), but I'm not sure if they're "online" enough to understand a lot of the satire.

I've always found that just being NEAR the antenna affected the reception (almost always for the better). You never knew whether your adjustments were positive until you moved back a foot or two.

Every other home in America has a multimeter.
I have one and I'm not even sure how to use it.
I was in a hardware store shortly after I bought my house, saw one, knew I'd be needing one, and bought it.

Same, and I can't think of any other movies to illustrate it with.

My favorite Tweet from 2016 was "Going Backwards Person appointed head of Department of Forward Motion"
(No idea who posted it)

I think part of why pandemic fiction disappeared overnight is the massive unaddressed global trauma, but part of it is surely that we know how people act in a global pandemic now and it’s just. So. Stupid. You can’t make a compelling human drama out of such idiocy. It’s too silly to be tragic.

If you were created an instant ago with a ready-made life's worth of memories, it would feel the same. And if you poofed out a second later, it would be an instant death and you'd feel no pain, better than most deaths.
I kind of envy the little guy.

I own like 10 of his albums and I still quote several of his bits, for me they don't stop being funny unless they directly remind me of his scummy side (e.g. "Spanish Fly").
