I think we also forget just how atrociously Bush was doing at the end of his second term, I legitimately think a dish rag with a D next to its name could have gotten 300 EVs, Obama happened to be preternaturally charismatic but there were also very strong currents moving in that direction

I kind of assume that would be true initially but once it became clear that a lot of balls that were home runs last year are fly outs this year hitters would adjust but maybe not

The springier thing wouldn’t mess with pitchers, just hitters, though

The easiest thing is to just make it less springy so it doesn’t travel as far or increase the drag by making it bigger/making the seams taller/making the surface rougher (all of which would slow down fastballs and increase pitch movement, I believe)

I do actually think there’s some merit to just forcing pitchers to not throw so hard purely for reducing injuries

(None of these are good ideas, to be clear)

What if all fields had to have grass that’s at least 5” in length?

What if we had a speed limit on pitches where anything faster than 99 was an automatic ball and anything faster than 96 gave a warning light
