I've been looking at their website, it seems GirlsWhoCode is now DEEEEEP into AI. The whole "about us" section is just AI.

I remember e-mailing them alllll the way back in 2015 saying I wan to provide free game assets for all their students - they declined :)

Pretty disappointed in both @humblebundle.com and especially in @girlswhocode.bsky.social. Please teach girls how to code, don't push them into generative AI. That won't build their skills. Prioritize foundational programming skills and awaken their interest. "Tired of long days writing code"???

Same organization that I emailed back in 2015 offering every student free game assets so they can focus on the coding aspect - they declined and didn't want to take the offer 🤡

Still learning how to draw PS1 textures! I think I'm getting closer to the result I want. This is going to take a while but at the very least creating variations is rather easy! #gamedev

Hey thank you for the kind words! I don't ever do game or design documents for my games, I just develop as I go hah

Exciting news as my game store image generator for #gamedev is getting an update in January adding support for more stores, JSON and more!

I could look into it but with JSON support you could add it in yourself, hopefully the community will create some additions!

I'm thinking runtime/design-time is merely a suggestion with godot because the editor is very small and you can ship it with your game to run import/export pipelines at runtime by launching it as a subprocess

could be useful for generating game content or full standalone games at runtime 🤔

this may have interesting implications because like most general-purpose engines godot is pretty barebones out of the box and there may be a lot of value in how easy it is to stack it onto itself to make more practical or niche gamedev tools out of it

For importing simple assets it would indeed make more sense to make your own thing, but I'm thinking of something with larger degree of godot integration, i.e taking an entire level made in godot and loading it into your runtime. smth like vrchat-unity sdk but with more magic and granularity maybe

in the vrchat-like app example it could i.e allow you to either run godot yourself to set up an avatar and export pck manually, or try to set it up for you automatically when you drop a gltf file, with both of those ways generating exactly the same intermediate files. it could be a nice QOL

to be clear I'm not talking about in-game "runtime runtime", I'm talking about some kind of a menu/lobby/editor screen where you won't mind staring at a progress bar for 10 seconds while godot generates some new pcks in background, which you can then distribute to other clients if you need

I bought one in the early days and it was garbage, pieces didn't fit and the colors were off - it was extremely cheap too. But nowadays, the quality is really good although a bit pricier than before. The only thing I didn't like was online-only instructions, I want to get away from phones :(

LEGO is getting extremely pricey, in my opinion. I bought this at a physical store which *only* had alternative brand bricks, so that was new to me and kind of refreshing to see. Store was packed!

I'm such a huge fan of early LEGO. Like the town sets with 4-stud wide cars, love love love those designs. I wish they'd offer that next to all their other sets, for a cheaper price (since less bricks...)
