I love living in DC for so many reasons. But one of the big ones is, I can sleep at night trusting that the vast majority of my neighbors share my basic values. This is a nice example of what I mean by that

To follow up on some earlier snark, behold, a cross-peen hammer I cleaned up. Removed the head and de-rusted. Glued cracks in handle to stabilize, scrubbed and degreased. Oiled to restore life to wood. Reassembled. Put in a wood wedge to replace roofing nails. Waxed for protection and feel.
