I've had several discussions with people who sincerely thought that Trans people were fully accepted everywhere. After digging a little I realized that it was how they wanted things to be and did not want to acknowledge that it wasn't. Also they were unconfortable with DEI for the same reason.

Not trying to defend a game I dropped before the end of the prologue thanks to the writing, but:
It's not great but from what I see it's clearly a bug testers could have missed depending on what they did before the cutscend, not a design decision. (that it was never fixed is another issue)
