It's also a big part of why the US comic market is constantly struggling on razor-thin profit margins. Black and white comics can be printed for cheap on regular pulp paper, but modern digitally colored comics need the thick glossy stuff. Making up the difference costs more than readers are will pay

Can't show the individual entries because some of it's still under an NDA, but this habit's done wonders for my feeling of accomplishment this year. It kept me on-track with more freelance work than I've ever taken on before, and eventually led me to the pair of personal projects I'm focued on now.
