All ourple tonight.

Another pattern I found without attribution and the title was cropped off. This one was printed in English, though, so I’m hopeful.

First time pattern, first time yarn - Scheepjes Cotton Whirl #712 dye lot 2, very jewel-toned rainbow.

All done!

I’m happy with my first attempt at this vintage pattern. There is SO much more pattern 1km of yarn & 1.75mm hook wouldn’t reach.

I’ll try it again in the future with #10 white crochet thread and 1mm hook to get the rest of the pattern.

Yes. Here’s the label and what I have left. Based on my previous parasols, I’ll likely need to borrow the last round from another cake, so slightly more than 1km. 👍

Tonight’s efforts do not include spreading the doily out. Apologies.

Interesting that the same lighting can produce such a different look just because the fabric is wrinkled.

I hope you’re all doing as well as possible this weekend. 💜

Much bigger, no pinker. Now fading into blue and pink + blue = purple. This yarn is a Scheepjes Cotton Whirl. I’ll use 1km of yarn when finished on 1.75mm hook.

Still haven’t found the origin of this Portuguese vintage filet crochet pattern, but I’ll continue to look.

A little bigger and a little pinker tonight. I’m using a 1.75mm hook for this.

I’ve had more homework than expected, but I’m ahead again after tonight, so my crochet production will pick up again. Molecular Genetics is no joke when you’re as old as I am. 😆

It’s coming along nicely. This pink is going to get SO pink then fade to purple and eventually light blue. Very into this #yarn 🧶

I received my first Pride selection of the year!! Sat March 6th

✨Cathedral City LGBT Days✨

If that’s your locale, I’ll see you there! Cat City Pride is a great time if you’ve never been & it’s cool to check out Coachella Valley, Palm Springs, and the Mojave Desert the first weekend in March.

Here I go again. 🧶

This pattern is another vintage one, but was scanned without a title. The text included with the chart is Portuguese. It has very interesting small pattern sections within the overall filet crochet. I hope it works for a parasol!

My last parasol of 2025 has become my first parasol of 2026. 😆 Oops.

2 more rows still to finish after this block, but I’m so pleased with how this lilies pattern worked up. 🧶 can you see them?

Here is last night’s work on the last parasol of 2025 for me. The lily stems are just becoming visible in this filet crochet pattern.

Tonight I plan to get thru the grey and white stripes of the Asexual Pride Flag. It’s a lofty goal, but I have some good movies to listen to while I work. 🧶 💜

One last parasol for 2025 is a brand-new pattern featuring lilies in filet crochet in the colors of the Asexual Pride Flag. 💜🩶🤍🖤

This hook is 1.25mm in case you’re curious. This circle is not quite 3” wide.

Also visible is a second wip bc why not? It’s a 60s color palette gay pride flag lampion.

Hope to see all my 🏳‍🌈 Utahns 🌈 on Satuday, Dec 20th

This will be my first time with pride flag crochet lampions 🧶 available. Really hope I take pics of them before they're all gone!

C’est fait!

Yay! I’m proud of this one. Went with a bright red 30” parasol frame, but didn’t get much of that in the pic.

I love my fiber art effigy to Sol. I’ll be sad to sell it next year at a market. 🥺

Now I’m making lampions and Krampuses for SLC Pride’s Winter Bazaar 12/20. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤎🖤

Adding more flames to the sun pattern I found on Pinterest so it’ll be big enough for a 30” parasol frame. Do I love this one because it’s getting cooler?

Didn’t say it yesterday, but I’m so grateful for crochet 🧶 and the 11 people who see my posts. 💜 You’re the best & I wish you happiness.

This pattern I decided “Hey, this would look great with picots at every single join.” Does it? Sure. Will I do it again? Ehh…

Beautiful & complex shadow. 👍

I hope you’re having a great day.

If you’ve been thinking of buying a parasol I’ll have 30% off big parasols this weekend on my website. 💜

Hi Bsky! 👋🏼

Found this pattern on Pinterest. If you know the original designer, I’d love to give them $$.

Did I follow the pattern & forget to add a hole for the parasol frame? Yep! Am I gonna try to force the frame thru the tiny center? You know it.

I haven’t forgotten you, Bsky. 💜

I also haven’t finished stringing the beads for my latest gay pride parasol. My apologies.

I was distracted by a beautiful new 8-pointed star pattern to which I added picots. 4000+ picots. I do love to crochet picots, but maybe not THIS much. Oops.

I think it’s gong to work! Super hopeful gay pride crochet!!

This is the last blocking before I finish & put it on the frame. I’m thinking I’ll add 2 more rounds and likely bead the edge so it drops down over the frame arms like a 70s lamp.

Then I should write down what I did so I can do it again.
October 30, 2025 at 6:17 PM
Well, this pattern ended 8 rounds ago, so I’m making it up to accommodate a 48” parasol frame. Hope it works out bc I hate frogging whole mandala art doilies!!

Still working this new pattern for tonight’s NLCS game. Hope it’s half as good as last night’s game. ⚾️

The blue color is sneaking in to my work now.

An LGBTQIA2S+ group in SLC may have a Winter Bazaar, so hopefully I’ll get to be involved!

Brand new patten for the NLCS game tonight. I don’t have a favorite of the Dodgers-Brewers, both teams play great baseball.

This pattern isn’t self-drafted. It’s printed in Cyrillic, so if you want the title and author, msg me. I’m quite excited about making something new-new.

Look, when a thing is right, it’s right.

What is your horror movie role this Halloween?
October 9, 2025 at 2:01 AM
I’m still catching up on orders from my sale. This is one I always love to make.

It’s okay, you can say it: Isn’t it just… beige?

Yes, but not for long. I promise teals and blues are coming. 🤞

Should I do a giveaway after I’m caught up?

A completed lampion that is a continuation of one section pattern from Studio156Delft.

It has really fantastic shadows!

I’m still new to #crochet 🧶 lampions, #lanterns, and #chandeliers so taking great pics of them isn’t in part of my skill set… yet. I appreciate your forgiveness, #crochetsky.
