I think of this video often. We shouldn’t be fighting the same fight. Waiting for comfort and decorum isn’t the way. Progress happens when you don’t stop.
Trump won’t respond to resistance by killing millions of Americans. Not because he CAN’T. But because doing so would remove illusion of his Constitutional rule. Legitimacy of rule waters down state and people resistance. Otherwise illusion falls.

No one said all judicial breadcrumbing was bad. Needs to keep illusion of SCOTUS functioning in independence with crumbs or otherwise people revolt

People will say that the 8 Senate Democrats were sacrifices and we will never know if they wanted to vote with GOP. 7 of the 8 have a pattern of caving to Trump so be confident that at least 7 were willing participants. Only Illinois Senator is a surprise.

I can’t even be mad at Donald Trump for these election inference pardons because the branches and federal Democrats chose to ignore the binding Constitutional provision that forbade him from having this power. They consigned his pardoning of insurrectionists by allowing one into the WH.

Assume all the yes and no votes from Dem senators are strategic and not sincere votes. The party caucus made a decision. No way to know how many were in favor. Then the caucus decided who would vote yes and no based on what would protect each of them politically the most. That’s how this works.

It’s not an abuse of pardon power if the Democrats certified the unconstitutional election of a democratically elected insurrectionist. We gave him that power. Sit on that discomfort. Not like we have a disqualification clause to prevent this. This is familiar misery. Keep it or fight it.

Your reminder that the DOJ tradition of not prosecuting a sitting President wasn’t legally binding. This is tradition restricting action. So many leaders had to fail us to get us here

Whatever kept these 7 Senate Democrats from caving at the start had to give their blessing for them to break with the resistance. 8th Senator is probably a sacrifice for Chuck to not get the heat.
