I just realized it but his posture and speech mannerisms are very much like a southern evangelical pastor.

What’s really crazy is you could probably go back to his twitter and see what he was posting about during that time period.

Seems like every John Scalzi famous for something. Meteorologist, Baseball player, and Internet Burrito Guru.

Wow, that seems rather intrusive.

And so when a fatal crash happens, who is at fault? Obviously Tesla. Not the vehicle, but the company.

So the question of “holding a computer accountable” would mean holding Tesla accountable for the decisions their computers made, and require Tesla to make amends when an incident happens.

Interesting article!

For me, “holding accountable” is determining who is responsible for making amends when something goes wrong, not a social punishment.

Tesla turning off autopilot just before a crash comes to mind. The intent is to deflect scrutiny from their systems and blame the driver.

Voting blue might be asking too much but I bet there’s a lot of republicans who just won’t vote.

This but the George C Scott version. He absolutely brought Scrooge to life.

Nah they’ll just pick someone utterly unqualified who will just make stuff up and then complain when they get called out about it.

They want this to me their Martial Law moment, but so many good, everyday people are stepping up to feed their neighbors.

The other day my boss was like “be careful this weekend, SNAP recipients might snap lol!” And I politely gave him an earful about how we are feeding people buying groceries etc.

Ahh I see the angle you’re taking now. Yeah that would be a lot better. Most campaigns are written where victory is a foregone conclusion. Branching narratives are so much more fun than linear, albeit a lot more work.

…increasingly greater chances to suffer increasingly dangerous injuries, including permanent injuries, limb loss, and permadeath. It’s a neat way to create a lot of tension around simply being injured. Are you going to be knocked unconscious or are you going to bleed out? Roll and find out.

The Break!! TTRPG has an interesting mechanic around injury. Your character can essentially take 3 hits (the system pretty much does away with damage rolls and everything is just a hit) after you’re out of “hearts” every hit after that forces you to make a roll on an injury table, with increasingly
