In Snowcrash by Neal Stephenson, toward the end of the book Hiro and Raven are in the Metaverse having a motorcycle duel, but then back in the real world YT looks over and sees Raven wearing his goggles and is “hunched over a pair of imaginary handlebars” and man if that doesn’t just kill the vibe

Time to start hitting the “show less like this” button.

They don’t want you know this, but you can lay the can of Pringle’s down on its side to eat out of and literally no one can stop you.

I have a lot of respect for public school educators but man they make some weird decisions as an organization.

Now, I was homeschooled, but I’ve got a kid in middle school and man what a draconian place. No talking in the hallway, walk in a line.

No individuality whatsoever.

Tempted to set up a speech-recognition api on my computer so I can code on these long car rides.

Might not look like much, but this is a system test I'm working on that decouples the "simulation" object from the GameObject in the scene. Both cubes have their Sim Object updated each frame, but the second cube is only having its Game Object updated every 5 seconds.

Had a dream last night about the absolutely coolest Ghibli-Inspired little space fighter / airplane. Woke up from the dream and just had to draw it. I should probably practice drawing more if I’m going to continue to come up with gems like this during my dreams:

@portalrealm.bsky.social hey, I saw that you archive Star Trek blueprints and I was wondering if you’ve ever come across this set before. Found this like 10 years ago at a thrift store. It’s got 13 big blueprints covering every deck of the Enterprise from TNG.

I just watched a dragonfly try to doink his reflection on my car’s hood while I was eating breakfast, how’s your morning going?

I think my blocker when it comes to finishing a game is how unpracticed I am at art. I can get by with 2D but when it comes to 3D my brain just does not have the patience to learn it.

I guess I need to pair up with an artist who feels the same way when they try to code.

Apparently I have to be massively sleep deprived in order to be able to write.

The creative juice just doesn’t flow if I’m rested and taking care of myself, it seems.

That frustrating dilemma where you feel creative but you can’t decide on if you want to be creative by writing, be creative by programming, or be creative by playing a game.

Hi, thanks for coming to my TED Talk. Today we’ll be discussing why #umamusume is a corporate dystopia.

Blessing and curse of being autistic: when a family member passes away you don’t have big feelings right away, so you can be the level-headed, logistical guy.

On the plus side you feel useful for having less outward emotions.

On the other hand you feel like an asshole for not showing grief.

You’d think, with the amount of Dystopian fiction we as a society consume, we’d have learned a thing or two.

Anyway I’m spending some time working on my dystopian fiction novel tonight.

Idk who needs to hear this, but the US Postal Service lets you choose your On Hold Music.

This timeline isn't all bad, then.

It happened again.

At least I can tell my boss I’m busy pulling down the repo again?

Instead of working on adding playable content to my JavaScript-based text adventure, I’ve spent the last week implementing and iterating on a mod loading system.

And now I’ve got plug and play mods with dependency tracking

Yay

How to tell you’ve strayed too far south:

After fooling around with various ideas and formats for text-based games over the years, I’m really pleased with my current html/javascript project.

I’d kinda forgotten just how easy it is to make dynamic, easily editable content with that stack.
