Former Republican who disavowed and left the GOP 15 years ago when it moved too far right, abandoned any principles, and became irredeemably stupid.

Actually, come to think of it, I came here from Twitter for pretty much the same reasons.
Agreed. The simple fact is that ANY Republican—be they a politician or a voter—who STILL calls themselves such either is in agreement with all the atrocities this fascist regime is doing in their name, or else they don't consider them a big enough deal to distance themselves from the party.

Honestly? My absolute top issue is simple: what politicians are willing to admit that we are currently under the thumb of a fascist regime, and as such, knows they are NOT going to just 'play by the rules' and give up power just because of pesky inconveniences to them like 'voting' and 'the law.'

You're looking at it from the wrong angle. What they are saying—since ALL departments of the federal government have been thoroughly corrupted at this point—is that NO orders that Trump gives can ever BE illegal.
Ah, there's the rub. Trump (and his cronies) are firmly in the "The king's word is law" camp. Just like Nixon, they think if the President does it, then, by definition, it IS legal. Hence, DJT thinks he is INCAPABLE of issuing an illegal order, and any illegal order would be any one that defies HIM.

Considering the vile nature of the people in charge of this country at the moment, no explanation given because no explanation needed.

I'm very pleased to see my own @vanhollen.senate.gov involved in this.

However, I would be far MORE pleased to see some of these politicians talk about how they plan to react when (not IF) this fascist regime decides to simply IGNORE any and all unfavorable-to-them results of the upcoming midterms.

Am I missing something? Hegseth is absolute garbage, but from what I understand, this is the image he was referencing, and it's definitely not a mirror-image (as evidenced by "NASA" and other medals' text visible and readable correctly in the full version)...? x.com/SenMarkKelly...

I can't stress how much these guys do not think there will ever BE such a trial. This is a fascist regime, and they are NEVER going to simply give up power due to such inconvenient things as 'voting' or 'laws.'

As far as they are concerned, enforcing laws only apply to you and me, never to them.

Oh, they read it; they just think/know it doesn't apply to them, thanks to the current corrupt SCOTUS (and buoyed up by years of constantly not being held responsible for their crimes).

Until this fascist regime is removed, those who carry out the acts have all the immunity they could need FROM Trump and the rest of these jackboots.

(unless, of course, Trump decides to throw them under the bus, which is always a likelihood, even if they are all convinced they aren't expendable)
November 25, 2025 at 3:26 AM
Oh, they know that. They just don't think it applies to them.

Perhaps, but the US military budget, IIRC, is greater than something like the next nine largest militaries COMBINED. Who exactly would step up to a shooting war with us? Especially with a fascist regime at the helm who sees everyone (and everyTHING) as expendable?
November 24, 2025 at 9:59 PM
While I would love to think so, I have my doubts, mainly because I have YET to hear ANY politician say what they're planning on doing when this fascist regime just outright IGNORES results they do not like. Dems STILL seem to think it will all just 'work out.'

Fascist regimes NEVER leave quietly.

It's hard to be empathetic to people who were perfectly fine with it happening, just as long as it was happening to OTHER people.

At some point, these Trump supporters moved from simply being ignorant to being willfully ignorant, and since that happened, it's difficult to garner sympathy for them.
November 24, 2025 at 4:07 PM
Classic egomaniacal behavior. Do something wrong, and then, instead of correcting your mistake, just double-, triple-, and quarduple-down on it.

Fixing his mistake would mean that he actually MADE a mistake to begin with, which we all know Trump thinks is impossible for him to do.
November 24, 2025 at 4:02 PM
"Everything [Trump] said was a lie."

No, Jim, everything he said about this was 100% spot-on. You just ignored all the evidence to the contrary and somehow assumed that when he said he'd illegally get rid of all immigrants, SURELY he couldn't have been talking about YOUR family.

Man, if ONLY we could lock all Republicans away behind a Golden Honmoon.
November 23, 2025 at 4:25 AM
I swear, these bumbling overconfident naïve idiots. It's like not a single one of them has ever even HEARD the phrase "No honor among thieves."

(By the way, that phrase equally applies to every single one of the other people involved in this fascist regime as well)
November 22, 2025 at 9:45 PM
True. I'm not saying it's NOT a possibility, just that I think given the incredibly stylized art style Viv has, the possibility of it being a coincidence is much higher than it would have been if the art style was more realistic.

Plus—at least to me—her being Lilith feels kind of off, narratively.

< it is to the stylized scale-mail gorget of the Exterminators.

One theory I've heard, and rather like, is that Rosie may actually be Eve, in hiding among the other denizens of Hell. That could put her on a power scale above normal Sinners and potentially close to Adam, and thus deal-maker-worthy?
November 22, 2025 at 7:51 PM
Rosie is surely more than just a regular Sinner (as otherwise it'd make no internal sense for her to have been able to make her deal in the first place), but I'm not convinced of the angelic connection either—I think the neck is more of a stylistic nod to her turn-of-the-century neck ruffles than >

If only "I am a citizen" actually MEANT anything to this fascist regime. We've had months of evidence that NOTHING matters to them if you're in their way.
November 22, 2025 at 1:16 PM
If you step back, it's not really all that surprising. He totally embraced being convicted of 34 felonies, because he takes it as a twisted badge of honor... kind of a "if they're fighting this hard against me, it just proves one again how right I am!" mentality. Same thing here.
