Former Republican who disavowed and left the GOP 15 years ago when it moved too far right, abandoned any principles, and became irredeemably stupid. Actually, come to think of it, I came here from Twitter for pretty much the same reasons.

Right? Honestly, if I were the head of any sort of international organization, I couldn't trust the US to not kidnap and/or "disappear" several of my members right off the street during the event.

We should remember that the original metaphor was "one bad apple can spoil the barrel."

These Young Republicans aren't the bad apples that spoil the barrel. They are THE BARREL that have now BEEN spoiled.

The original bad apples are Trump and his band of racist, homophobic, misogynistic fascists.

I'm pretty sure that never happened. On social media, people have been saying that this exchanged occurred between Ivanka and jasmine Crockett, not AOC. And even then, the only sources I see about THAT theoretical exchange looks to be fake Twitter threads and AI YouTube videos; no actual news sites.

And just in case people didn't pick up on it: even if it was framed as such, it WASN'T a joke.

These were said in a joking tone, but—just like all the unfiltered drivel that constantly sloughs off Trump's brain and out his mouth—they'd be absolutely delighted if any of it actually DID happen.

I mean, it's not the first time Trump's gotten rid of these types of professionals, so one can only wonder what the next plague that hits us will be? With RFKjr also in play, the mind boggles at the vast array of biocalamities that can—and likely WILL—hit us while we are woefully unprepared, again.

Fair, but training your eye sounds like something very useful, especially to us non-indigenous folks, who might not even realize we're missing anything in the first place. Thanks for the effort, regardless of whether or not it gets its own release.

Heh. I do like that they're pulling pre-existing villains from earlier chapters that we've had to deal with, and fleshing them out, as opposed to just dropping new enemies crated fresh, however. Having those connections makes things more visceral!

I think most all kids had some variant of that fear (much like many kids had a habit of daydreaming about something being alongside the car on long car trips). Mine was some giant scythe blade.

I think it may stem from an instinctual fear about having our body parts just hanging out in open space?

< There may still be one way to make sure these people are removed from power and face said justice/retribution, but I assure you, it isn't going to come from any legal institutions at this point. We've collectively waited too long for that approach to have any impact now.

I agree 100% with the underlying thoughts behind this statement, but sadly, I would have had to stop after saying "No legal institution is going to hold Trump accountable."

Impeachment is a nonstarter, due to the GOP majority, who will refuse to convict. And the GOP will _remain_ the majority, >
