Think this is what my colleague was referring to. I agree it looks complex (moreso than I was led to believe) but it does look like there is a basis to the claim care workers from overseas are paid 20% less. I admit - it’s not quite as clear cut as I was led to believe but it’s not a myth either

Yes but I’ve got care workers telling me that the visa system was allowing the sector to recruit from overseas and pay those workers 20% less than UK workers. That’s bad for the immigrants and bad for the displaced UK staff because the care sector was recruiting the cheapest staff and saving 20%
