As I remember it, the triple lock was bought in because UK pensions were embarrassingly low compared to other European countries. Our problem is that our system of paying pensions out of general expenditure is unsustainable with an ageing population.

The Tories have identified £47Bn of savings.
I'd be interested to see some detail on that. I bet a lot of it is imaginary efficiency savings.
There are real efficiency saving to be made, of course. But, that will require investment. i.e. More spending up front.

State pensioners are eligible for tax if they have additional income that pushes the total above the personal allowance. It will be interesting to see how Reeves squares that with her promise they won't be taxed on pension payments above the threshold.

I had a PSA test after attending a cancer awareness session run by my local trust. I had to request it. But, it was freely available. For me, it was just about my age.
