It's the year of our lord 2026 and #TurboTax from #Intuit is still an Intel Application. Apple started the transition to M-chips six years ago. The last Intel Mac was sold three years ago. Last year Intuit made $15B in profit. But they can't afford to bring their apps up to date?

Ten hours later and they’ve restored about 20K. At this rate it will take over two more days. You’re terrible at your job, #xcel. It gets windy like this every year. This is not unusual weather.

I keep checking the #xcel outage page. The wind has been much lower for at least a couple hours and yet these numbers have only gone up. So incompetent!

Imagine if an auto company sold a car that didn't work due to common weather and caused a massive chain pile-up at least once a year (due to no fault of your own), so they tell you not to drive it on those days. That would trigger a massive recall! Congress would investigate.

Here's Zed vs. VS Code, its main competitor. I'll grant that many of the VSC ones are bad and duplicative, but even if that cuts the VSC count by 90%, it's ahead by 10x over Zed.

Earlier this year we replaced an ancient gas furnace+10 year old #heatpump with an new heat pump only system. Here's the first decently cold months usage for 2024 and the same time frame in 2023. Basically the same electricity usage, but we used 89% less gas (we have a gas clothes dryer).
