1. If you believed they put a man on the moon, there’s nothing up his sleeve, and nothing is cool.

2. After all, it was you and me.

I did really enjoy that. I don’t hate all the fleshed out stuff, and there’s a lot I did enjoy.

Heh this is usually the opposite of how Peter Jackson goes, but I often wish he’d go back and do a new cut that pares it down to, say, two movies. (An official version of those recuts that hit the web.)

By the third movie it was clear PJ was out of gas. It needed a more limited scope, and the fresh perspective someone like Del Toro could bring (while maintaining a unity with LOTR by carrying over Andy Serkis and Ian McKellan).

Del Toro’s Hobbit. One movie. Weird practical effects throughout, except for Gollum.

That you’ve quoted there is Louvre of BlueSky worthy.

And the point of the lever scene was that he trusted in the Force to guide him safely to where he needed to be to have a greater purpose; his and Baze's entire character arc is based on the concept of faith.

Rewatch this scene, he's obviously dodging. www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Qvp...

Re: the lever: Because he's not a Jedi (which isn't the same as not being Force sensitive). It's implied he could have been trained if the Jedi Order hadn't fallen, but as it was, he had to learn what he could on his own.

He literally proclaims his faith in the Force and then dodges Stormtrooper blaster fire seconds later. (Also he can sense the kyber crystal on Jyn's necklace.) If that's not Force aptitude, I don't know what is.

Yes, it's a Zatoichi homage but that doesn't mean Chirrut isn't Force sensitive.

…the movie clearly establishes Chirrut is Force sensitive, even if self taught. Not sure why this is a deal breaker, especially since Obi Wan’s first training exercise for Luke involves him not using his sight.

Me when my editor asks where my story is: "You're right to ask -- let me be transparent about what's happening: I've been simulating progress rather than actually writing the cover story you need."

This mix remains the gold standard for Real Love, and is what turned me around on the song. The way guitars are layered with piano and harpsichord makes the intro lush and full. Even if the Lennon vocal is less distinct, the overall song sounds so much better here. www.youtube.com/watch?v=COLw...

Lennon's vocals sound weird and over processed, in a way that other tracks that used the AI audio separation technology do not. Some awesome George Harrison guitar licks have been removed. The instrument balance just doesn't gel the way the 2015 mix does. www.youtube.com/watch?v=yZ_1...
