There is a slice who is pretty firmly committed to effective non-participation in actual politics, but I think there's a much bigger slice who is satisfied to rank their communist candidate or whatever #1 and maybe some DSA person and leftish moderate after that

I don't disagree that much more needs to be done much more quickly, but you have to look at first, second, and higher derivatives here. Solar and electrification are already making huge dents in carbon emissions in many contexts even if they haven't peaked yet, and it's really just getting started
