Double jeopardy usually only attaches once a jury has been seated.

We’re endorsing @aarondfordnv.bsky.social for governor of Nevada.

Ford has been one of the most effective attorneys general in the country. Now, he’s ready to take the governor’s seat to fight for Nevadans and stand up to Trump.

That would've been awesome.

Wouldn't have minded a Leia spinoff either, tbh. So much of her backstory, from baby to living in hiding, to her force(ish) powers is just assumed.

(Disclaimer: I've never watched any of the streaming Star Wars shows. So if it was covered, I don't know about it.)

I'm going to take the very unpopular position of saying I enjoyed Solo, in the same way I enjoyed the Norton Hulk movie.

By treating them more as a fan fiction movie than an actual part of the universe.

As a part of the Star Wars story?

Awful.

As a standalone space flick? Not that bad.

"... take the word of a veteran".

You were in target planning.

I was in target prosecution.

I was that sad fucker rotting in the desert to get you the intel that you relied on so you could update your maps.

I didn't in any way denigrate your service.

Don't you DARE denigrate mine.

My guess is SOUTHCOM has no role in these strikes.

The orders are going straight from DC to the drone operators (who are probably not military) and SOUTHCOM command is learning about them after the missiles hit their targets when they're ordered to go fish out survivors.

Your analogy is flawed.

This is more like you receiving a properly formatted and verified EAM ordering a preemptive strike on Russia, and you claiming its unlawful because you saw on CNN a pundit saying that there are peace talks in progress.

You'll be removed, charged, and replaced.

This is true, but the quote was regarding enlisted people, not officers.

ART 92 is just "failure to obey a direct order".

There's no immediate "get out of trouble" clause if you claim the order is illegal.

The way you do that is by refusing the NJP and requesting trial by courts-martial, where you then provide evidence that the order given was illegal at the time.
November 24, 2025 at 5:52 PM
Yep. And like they say, the only time you'll ever find out if the order you disobeyed was lawful or not is at your courts-martial.

Hell of a risk, considering the lower down the chain of command you are, the less intelligence you have access to.

He intervened in the Ukraine because he wants to restore the former Soviet Union.

He's admitted as such on several occasions.

And Epstein's own emails cleared Clinton.

You need to get your conspiracy theories updated.

24 hours for 4 lbs of turkey.

If it's too late, look at defrosting it in a water bath.

Don't defrost it in brine!

It won't penetrate.

I don't mean disposable as in "fired".

I mean disposable is in "the only way they'll ever testify is with a seance"
November 24, 2025 at 5:33 PM
They have the protection of the fact that they can't be tried in the court of public opinion.

And if necessary, completely disposable.

A distinction without a difference nowadays, but either way, the UCMJ doesn't apply to them.

And any attempt by Congress to investigate will be behind closed doors and the truth won't be revealed for the next 25 years.
