I’m not sure how many have read about the hardcore undocumented immigrant crackdown in Alabama back in 2011.

It was an epic failure. They lost tons of food and it was a huge income loss for Alabama.

This is who we are now.

A nurse, who’s been in the US for 30 years with a legal work permit, with a citizen son & parents she takes care of, was detained at her routine ICE check in.

She couldn’t legally be sent back to Sierra Leone, so they sent her to Ghana who dragged her & then sent her to SL.
jfc. It was determined by a US judge that she could not be deported to Sierra Leone due to danger she would face in the country she fled. So they deported her to Ghana, a country she had never been to, and Ghana deported her to Sierra Leone.

This country is fucking sick. Deeply deeply fucking sick

Rabbiatu Kuyateh was detained this summer at her annual ICE check-in, her son said. She moved to the D.C. area 30 years ago as she fled civil war in Sierra Leone.

In a survey of 30 homes, at least 25 miscarriages and a half dozen people living with one kidney were reported.

I thought I sent this timeline cleanse earlier today. But no.

It’s still the weekend, so please enjoy the spider monkeys on our road this morning. While it’s not a regular occurrence, they’ve been here 5 times in 2 weeks.

Our favorites!! Look at the joy in their movement!

So they have an actual number. Do they have names?

No, they just are sure they’ll find “that many people”…?

Grotesque.

NEW: ICE has finally released post-shutdown detention data. The latest data reveals that a full 40%(!) of people arrested in the interior and held in ICE detention have no criminal record; no criminal charges or prior convictions. That is up from just 4% when Trump took office.

🧵Let’s talk about what DEI is.

Diversity, equity, and inclusion doesn’t mean people getting jobs because of their skin color, that’s what the absence of DEI does.

At one point, most professional sports leagues were white-only.

Good thread… this is exactly what I expect. We haven’t really “won” much. I hope our leadership is preparing with proper messaging…
1. On Tuesday, the House overwhelmingly passed a bill to force the release of the Epstein files, 427-1. Even before it arrived at the Senate, it was passed by unanimous consent. Last night, the president signed it.

Donald Trump caved, but this isn't not over.

Here are some more thoughts.

THAT'S LITERALLY HOW THE SUBSIDIES & ACA EXCHANGES WORK ALREADY.

CONSUMERS ARE INFORMED BY COMPARING POLICIES ON THE ACA EXCHANGES, THEN THEY PURCHASE ONE AND THE GOVERNMENT PAYS SOME OR ALL OF THE COST OF THAT POLICY.
