Watched THE MAGIC OF BELLE ISLE (2012), a lesser-known film by #RobReiner starring Morgan Freeman & Virginia Madsen. It was sad, sweet, & healing. I watched the Blu-ray extra director's interview & was gutted by him saying that he realized as he got older that life ends, that this is all we have.

#RobReiner was one of the few directors who respected children and their complex personalities. He created children's entertainment that was intelligent, compassionate, funny, and something whole families to enjoy together. The US is a hostile place to children, but he made it better. RIP.

Sadly, Meggie crossed the rainbow bridge 1.5 years ago. I miss her so much, but we have a new fur baby, Daisy, to love. I always say that we are lucky to be able to have opportunities to love a number pets in our lifetimes. (left, Meggie; right, Daisy) #adoptapet

I thought I'd try my top films 2000-2025. None from 2025, not a good year. I have 26, including some docs and sort-of docs that I thought were totally masterful. Quite a few omissions, but that's the way it goes with lists. 🎥 #filmsky #TopFilmsOfThe21stCentury
