This is Tim Cook’s superpower.

And none of his rumored successors have demonstrated prowess at this.

The most astounding thing about the Alan Dye saga is that most people aren’t even saying “he’s bad“ or ”I dislike the work under his tenure”

They’re saying “he’s a fraud”

Very cool that Cloudflare’s outage report had the CEO in the byline as the author.

Sure, I doubt he actually wrote it, but putting his name as ultimately the one responsible is admirable.

In similar incidents, it would just be some engineering lead.

Cloudflare outage on November 18, 2025
Cloudflare suffered a service outage on November 18, 2025. The outage was triggered by a bug in generation logic for a Bot Management feature file causing many Cloudflare services to be affected.

A while ago, I had a fun home network project where I would route all my internet traffic through Cloudflare Warp.

The thinking was: I trust Cloudflare more than I trust my ISP and theoretically, web browsing should also be faster since it uses Cloudflare infrastructure instead of public ones.

Incredible recruitment video

Focuses on the humans and barely about the company, only about how the interactions with the other people there make it special.

Then, a ton of discussion about family and life outside work.

The fact that this was made is a statement in itself.

All software is “complete” at some point.

I think Slack was completed in 2024 or so.

Anything after that point is pure bloat.

I think Liquid Glass stung because it claimed to be a big reimagining of iOS, but it was just a shiny reskin.

No one is mad that iOS is changing. The gestures in the iPhone X was almost a decade ago and that was game changing.

Yes, iOS needs a big reimagining. But Liquid Glass isn’t it.

YouTube rolled out a very distracting new player UI

But at least they didn’t say it elevated the content and made it shine

Apple Music deletes your playlists and anything else you’ve built up if you unsubscribe for a few months.

This seems really odd. Why eliminate any incentive for a user to return to your service?

If I resubbed to Apple Music now, it would be like starting from zero. Everything, gone.

Finally got back into Invasion (Apple TV+).

It's sad to see a show with such a good premise work overtime to undermine its own potential.

Kids and technology is such a tough problem to solve.

It’s not black and white, but having a tablet is just horrible for “fun” stuff is actually a good partial solution.

Why are we lying to young people about work?

Everything worth having lives on the other side of effort.

Everything good requires tending. Everything beautiful demands maintenance.

I’ve been trying YouTube Music recently and the app is not good.

But oh wow the algorithm is close to magical. I’ve never felt this with Spotify or Apple Music.

If you tune your recommendations (even barely), and then start the Super Mix, every song is a banger. It’s so good for discovery.

IMO Figma missed a big opportunity to put the first 2 letters of each product’s name inside a colored box

So Design would be “De” in a blue box, Dev would be “Dv” in a green box, Slides “Sl” in an orange box, and so on

If the person designing your phones also uses a phone case, isn’t that an admission of defeat?

There’s nothing wrong with cases, but phones should be designed to not need them.

They shouldn’t feel slippery or fragile, or make you feel like you need to wrap rubber around them.
