My dog has a heated bed because we keep our house cold, but sometimes just his toesies need warming.

It's official, I've spent more time on the last 20% of this sweater than the first 80%. Still have 2' of trim to knit and then sew on.

5" of seaming and already ready to cry. I don't know why I didn't change this pattern to in the round up to the armholes, I really feel like I'm not going to be able to finish it and I literally only have the seaming left to do, it would be stupid not to finish now.

If I'd seen Heavy Metal as a tween in the 80s off someone's older brother's bootleg VHS like everyone I know did, maybe I'd feel some kind of way about it. As it is, I feel like I was just bored for 90 minutes on purpose.

My kids 1000% had better cartoons than I did growing up, but Thundarr holds up. tubitv.com/series/30001...

I started these sleeves with 4 stitch markers. They ended with one stitch marker, two safety pins, and a piece of wool tied in a knot.

I figure I'm 80% done with this sweater, which in real life means I'm nearly halfway through.

I love that my dog's instinct is to cuddle when I'm injured. I just wish I could explain to him that it's the opposite of helpful to snuggle a fresh tattoo.
January 9, 2026 at 9:42 PM
I was really hoping I'd finish the sleeves today but I have a solid 3 hours left. I am past the in-the-round part though, so that's something.

This is the Zeno's Paradox of tattoos at this point. This is at least the fourth session we've said "this is gonna be the last one!" and the second where I actually believed it might be true. One. More. Session. (Where we get halfway closer to finished?)

The nicest thing about using EV chargers is meeting people who are hype about their cars. When I see a cool car, I ask if it's ok to take a pic and 99.9% of the time get a convo with someone who loves their car and doesn't get to gush about it nearly as much as they want. I got a Buzz tour!

I'm done with following this pattern, going it on my own. Converted the sleeves to in the round, made them straighter, matched the increases, and knitting 2 at once so if I make any mistakes they become matching design choices. 5" down, 12" to go! #knitting 🧶

My poor kids took 10 hours to make the 3.5-hour drive up to see us. There's someone around here with a "H8 95N" license plate, and buddy, I feel you.

I don't find new music that really moves me much, so it's pretty exciting when I do. And it's from... a cartoon about a clown? I'm confused, but I'll take it. worthikids.bandcamp.com/album/bigtop...

My dog is certain the world is ending if there is a single flicker of lightning 20 miles away, but is utterly unbothered by fireworks. He didn't even care when some new idiots moved onto our street and got a few off before they were absolutely swarmed by dog owners and veterans. Weird lil' guy.

Got home an hour early today and my dog doesn't understand why we're not going for a walk. "Too early" is not in his lexicon.

I just finished the Christmas baking and somehow chose a knitting pattern that is written in the style of knowing that "onions" means "green onions" and "eggs" means 12 boiled and 6 raw. My next project is coming with clear, unambiguous instructions.

Before/after lengthening his sweater. Pattern is Edinburgh Seamless Dog Sweater (Ravelry), with adjustments. I'll make him one that tapers better, I just added to the end of this one instead of reworking. My doggie does NOT like having his picture taken, but we feed him so he puts up with us.

The next time you want to describe OCD as a cute personality quirk, please spare a thought for my mother-in-law, who is absolutely melting the fuck down because the Christmas decorations are still up at her assisted living, 2 entire days after Christmas.
December 27, 2025 at 10:53 PM
I only took one singular blurry photo of the bracelet we made for my mother-in-law - the teen made the stone (it's ceramic) and I did the wire stuff. It's not a craft I'm going to keep doing, but I do think the result is pretty ok for an unskilled attempt.

Snoot.
December 25, 2025 at 1:27 PM
My dog would like to know if you have any of those Christmas breakfasts for him.
December 25, 2025 at 12:23 PM
We've got the cheese straws, peanut brittle, fruit and chocolate dreams, and fudge down. Now I just have to wrap everything and do the stockings and finish an entire bracelet and do the liver of sulphur thing and knit a dog sweater and we're good to go. I think I'm ahead of schedule this year?
December 24, 2025 at 8:37 PM
Poor sad boy in baby jail because he won't stop trying to help make the cheese straws.

My youngest made these, not me, the only thing I've ever crocheted was a spiraly worm bookmark thing. I just love them - they're coasters that roll up into bouquets. Pretty! Useful! More decorative than a worm! #crochet
