Liverpool hitting new levels of "sometimes it is just not your year."

Feel bad for Slot. Still think he's pretty good. Not sure what he's supposed to do about his best player becoming his worst player + a beloved locker room glue guy dying in an accident + losing every single dice roll.

We’re winning the Champions League

Why do we even bother getting emotionally invested in something so rigged?
February 8, 2026 at 6:21 PM
Even with all the space on the planet, we can’t counter attack to save our lives. Baffled that we decided to sit deep with attacking momentum.

Guess the good news is we kept it 0-0 and this City team seems to drop a few gears after 60mins. Won’t mean jack if we don’t see a massive improvement on the ball though.

Gakpo literally tackles Kerkez to give the ball to the opposition. You just can’t write this.

Seems Howe’s time is up.

My cynical part thinks this means Ibou’s gone. Don’t think you’d sanction that amount unless he’s coming to be a starter.
Liverpool and Rennes have agreed a £55m +£5m deal for defender Jeremy Jacquet to move to Anfield in the summer.

Alisson, who also lost his father too young, running across the full pitch to hug a crying Ibrahima Konaté after his goal. Hard to find words.

Comfortably managed a game from a winning position in the premier league for the first time in ages.

Also, first time we win in the PL this season after conceding first.

And a goal to cap off a sensational performance from Ibou. Good lad.

My very low expectations from today’s game will be slightly shifted by whether Cody is or isn’t on the starting eleven.

The performances are all that matters. He can say he has better hair than Brad Pitt for all I care.
Is Arne Slot’s blunt honesty alienating Liverpool fans?

Makes sense that my goalscorers were Haaland, Mbappe and the goalkeeper

Poo. I think UCL qualification is fucked. These were the easy fixtures. What comes up next is brutal.

Robbo gets more time on the pitch ahead of the WC.

Kostas comes back from an unsuccessful loan.

The club gets a small fee for a player who‘s contract runs out and a competent back up LB.

Spurs stop having to play right footers on the left when Udogie inevitably gets injured.

Makes sense to me.

I’d argue that both the last two games were the most progress we’ve seen in a while. Created a bunch of chances both games.

Hope the football gods don’t punish my optimism.
January 21, 2026 at 9:59 PM
Dear football gods, can we have at least one game in this putrid month where fans aren’t miserably posting about how shit we were afterwards?

Regards, some guy.

The beautiful game is still alive.

Very eager to witness this incredibly high pressure penalty
January 18, 2026 at 9:12 PM
My humble opinion on yesterday:

If we manage to consistently sustain pressure an camp in the opposition box like we did yesterday, short defensive lapses won’t matter since we’ll probably be 3-0 up by that point.

Question is, was yesterday repeatable or was it simply because of opposition level.

Hope we manage to sort Ibou out. I’d take him renewing over Guehi every day of the week.
🚨 Liverpool summer focus expected to be centre-back; no breakthrough on Konate contract + Van Dijk / Gomez expiring in 2027. Right-back recruitment not planned by #LFC this window & Salah staying but situation one to watch at end of season 🚨 @theathleticfc.bsky.social

The second Harry Maguire scored a winner at Anfield I knew the season was cursed and that we should expect the worst in every possible scenario.
Conor Bradley’s domestic season is over. He’s avoided an ACL injury but it is a significant knee injury with damage to bone and ligament. The #LFC man will undergo surgery in the coming days. Massive blow for player and club 🔴
