We've crashed #BIBA2025 with 1 message:
Stop insuring climate collapse #InsureOurSurvival

A new report reveals 33 UK insurance firms still back #fossilfuels & just 5 invest over $6.5billion into climate-wrecking projects

Why⁉️

For those who haven’t been feeling fascism for a long time, I wonder if privilege was blinding us?

Bill Owens, executive producer of “60 Minutes”, resigns: “I would not be allowed to run the show as I have always run it, to make independent decisions based on what was right for ‘60 Minutes’, right for the audience.”

Blaming migrants, refugees & educated elite are all classic distraction lies, which unfortunately work!

It is a common anti democratic method to undermine us!

When the real problems are people who live above democracy, e.g. Billionaires, fascists with power.

Isn't 5C human extinction?
There’s a small chance of very high warming even with moderate future emissions, reports @newscientist.com, referring to a new PIK study. It’s the first to make long-term projections over 1,000 years while accounting for established carbon cycle feedbacks.

Another world is possible,
#local #Cleaner #community
Cities with streets with no cars, only people & bikes and mobility devices. Rails running underground. Electricity generated locally & everywhere. Corners all have small grocery shops, health clinics, community centers, libraries. Every person guaranteed a home. Luxury goods taxed out of existence…

Activists greeted travellers at the entrances in protest of private jets, airport expansion and air pollution. Children near CPH airport have higher rates of asthma and other respiratory illnesses. This isn't just a climate issue; it's a public health crisis.

We disrupted Nordea
General Meeting while they were voting against the resolution to stop funding fossil fuel expansion.

Nordea is still NOT listening to the Science. Fossil fuels must stay in the ground.

Sweden's treatment of climate activists worries UN Special Rapporteur Michael Forst, AFP reports.

Clara, a researcher, held up a banner against private jets at Bromma Airport.

For this, she was arrested, searched for drugs in police custody and eventually denied Swedish citizenship.

Now the government, Swedavia and a member of parliament are being criticized by a UN rapporteur.

This was a great read.
The paper discusses hurdles impeding the engagement of researchers:

Axiological neutrality
Doing one's share of the work
Scientific reductionism
The socialization of researchers
Looking forward to reading this very relevant and interesting-looking paper!

"we suggest there is an urgent need for researchers to collectively reflect on their situation and decide how to redirect their actions."

Fully agree with that.

positive language & general climate action messages were less effective

using moralized language was particularly effective for scientists

Lärosäternas klimatnätverk och ett antal studentkår har skrivit ett öppet brev till landets rektorer om att svenska högskole- och universitetsutbildningar behöver förändras för att bemöta hållbarhetsutmaningarna vi står inför.
