Now playing: “The Rainbow”, new single from JJ Lovegrove. 🌈

"If I could have a little more light maybe I could be a rainbow."

Inspired by the writing of D.H. Lawrence whilst drawing on JJ’s own lived experiences.

Playing now. Really looking forward to this. I think you can listen in on any BBC East Midlands local radio station, I jump to Leicester as that's where I am 😀 Always a good way to find new sounds, and particularly tonight!

@clonehenge.bsky.social Mug on the cup & ring marked stone to be found in the grounds of Yorkshire Museum. (And a shot without the mug).

It really was unreal to be in there with them, stroking them, brushing them and scratching under their chins 😀

It's Tapir Tuesday! 😀

Today I got to spend some time up close with George and Tia, the Lowland Tapirs at Peak Wildlife Park.

What an experience! I was grinning from ear to ear throughout.

Big thanks to keeper Amy, who was simply amazing.

I went with a happy little ghost in the end. And then we watched The Woman in Black... It had been a while so all the jump scares got me 🤣 I only remembered at the end that I wasn't satisfied by the end 🙄🤣👻

Just home from my diabetes ‘MOT’. Now the wait for results. It helped that the nurse I saw is the one at the practice who just puts me at ease & makes me feel relaxed. Now home with a big mug of coffee & my favourite music on the hi-fi 😁

And hearing the voice of the much missed John Peel introducing the band at the start of this…

And again, so much energy in this recording.

Given a time machine, I’d be making sure I got myself into the audience for this one.

Disc 2 is so damned good. So much energy in this.

There we go. Just at the time where the sun has moved around so I can sit in the shade but still have sunlight. This is Yorshire Bakewell Brew. Lovely 🫂

And here's one of me from that trip on August 8th this year. I had just popped my wide-angle lens on and was showing Michelle how crazy close you could get into stuff with it. So, a deliberately unflattering portrait 🤪🤣. SW sector.

Just snapped my mug with my phone. Damage to the base, but the shock of the fall also took a chip out of the bottom inside so I'm hesitant to drink from it. But the artwork is all good so fine to appear on photos of stones 😄

My favourite shot of the day here 😀 Pete with Clonehenge mug and Nancy. Sadly mine fell from the kitchen cupboard and the enamel cracked. But I still have it & treasure it. Next time I visit some stones it's going in my camera bag. And I loved Pete's shirt that day, all the wee drawings and writing.

And Silbury from Waden Hill that day. It's a shame I don't have more people photos. I know I'm bad with that, and I always tell myself that those are the ones I value most, but when out with the camera, I don't like to intimidate people with my lens. Need to work on that attitude.

And another I clearly did nothing with at the time. Walking up Waden Hill for the view of Silbury and I snapped one away to the south of people walking up to West Kennet Long Barrow.

And one from 8 minutes earlier that day, at The Cove Stones. Don't think I've shared this one before.

About a stop of exposure added 😀
September 14, 2025 at 10:05 AM
Sadly, not many photos with people on them that day. But here's another.

I've just dug back to that day in Lightroom. Approaching Uffington White Horse. Makes me realise I've not been back since & it has been even longer since I've visited Wayland's Smithy.

Turns out I was actually further up the hill. I didn't bother doing anything with the photo because it was one of those that I enjoyed when shooting but wasn't really anything. What I can tell you is that just prior to shooting I was remembering that walk with you & Jez.
