I think that the optics of "Coachella outside auschwitz" is fucked but also I do not think the average modern person has the attention span needed to actually engage with a lot of political action now. If wearing costumes makes the protests hold attention longer, I think that's a good thing

I feel like the costumes are effective at showing that the protests are largely nonviolent and the reporting of the areas as "war ravaged" is obviously wrong. I feel like they've also gotten a lot of media attention, which is usually sympathetic. It's kinda silly but I don't see how it's harmful
